Staircases
In my workshop in Gaujan (32420), I create all types of wooden staircases, from the simplest to the most elaborate. The world of staircases is incredibly vast and fascinating; it's in these projects that I find the most satisfaction and challenges. I work with you to design, according to your desires and the technical constraints of your project, the comfortable, practical, and aesthetically pleasing staircase you need. I build these staircases using local wood species such as ash, oak, beech, and fir, always sourced locally and responsibly.

three staircases in a dovecote
project name
Three staircases in one project. This was a dovecote that was converted into a dwelling, near Simorre. I renovated and leveled the three floors, and therefore built the three stacked staircases, all in oak, with landings, quarter turns, half turns, and reused some parts from the original staircase. Curved staircase
This is a project I undertook with a carpenter friend to build the staircase for his house. We pushed ourselves to the limit, both in the design and the construction. This all-ash staircase is curved at the top to fit the width of the existing landing, and has a central stringer assembled with half-lap joints to support all the treads. The finish is oiled with Rubio Oil Plus 2C.

Staircase with landing and quarter turn
An ash staircase, with a quarter turn, a landing, and a straight flight; the staircase is placed on a first step of stone cut for the occasion, and the handrail as well as the infills will be made of wrought iron.
Replacement of treads and risers
Renovation of a staircase, replacing the treads, risers and stringers against the walls. Here the original central core was preserved, and all the treads were recut identically and in the same wood, poplar.
